Late night work at my kitchen table. Starting to dismantle the camera. This was the easiest part.

Parallel with that I work with to set up my Raspberry Pi Zero after my mistake which forced me to reinstall everything again so I have begun to dismantle the camera (ie Yashica).

Although Yashica-A was a simple camera in its range the build quality is very good. Everything is made of metal and unlike today’s camera there is very little plastic. The camera has been been repaired before. Well, at least tried repaired. So I had some challeges dismantle it.

After I had taken off the release mechanism I met some challenges. The camera has a “tube” between the mechanism and where the film would be. I want to mount RPis camera module as far forward as possible. So the tube hade to be removed.

Hacksaw
A hacksaw? Are you nuts? Yeah, probably. This is the point of no return.

But the tube stuck. It looks very brutal with hacksaw with so delicate mechanism. But it was necessary to remove the tube.

It belongs to the story that when I almost had sawed off the tube finaly loosened. I could now screw it off. As Homer Simpson would say: Dohh ..!

Now I have to figure out how to assemble RPis its camera module inside Yashica-A. I purchased a bracket from The Pi Hut. I have Sugru. So the lack of access to a 3D printer so I hope that I manage to secure the bracket with Sugru.

Do you have any thought on how I best could fit the camera module inside?
